Nelson and Paola Sosa
A father and daughter who have been playing together since 1996.
Paola sings, Nelson plays, and they have been doing it together across Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin since 1996. It is a warm, unhurried sound built for rooms where people are eating, talking and dancing — cumbia y mucho más, as their posters put it.
The repertoire moves wherever the evening needs it to go: boleros and ballads under conversation early on, then salsa, merengue, bachata, cha cha cha and cumbia once the floor fills. They cover songs from every Spanish-speaking country, and sing in English, Italian, Portuguese and Japanese as well as Spanish.
The duo is the core, and it expands. Additional musicians can be added for larger rooms and bigger nights.

- Private parties, birthdays, anniversaries and quinceañeras
- Weddings, from ceremony through reception
- Corporate events and cultural celebrations
- Senior communities — a repertoire reaching back to the 1940s, in Spanish and English
Nelson replies to every enquiry himself.
